Adpots Michael Caine accent… Not a lot of people know this, but if you’ve got an eBook, PDF or another document you want to read on your Kindle, you can email it directly to the device. If you’re jetting off on holiday, for example, it’s not a bad idea to save a copy of your travel documents to the Kindle, in case you drop the printouts.
How do you do it? First, you need to find the individual email address of the device you want to send the book/document to. It will normally take the form of youramazonusername_01@kindle.com.
To find this address, visit the Manage Your Devices section of the Amazon website. Click on the Settings tab and the email addresses of your various Amazon devices should be listed down the page.
Simply attach the book/document in an email sent to that address, and it will be automatically synced to your Kindle device. This can be a dedicated Kindle device, or the Kindle app on smartphones, tablets or computers.
You can email all manner of document formats to a Kindle, including Microsoft Word (either .docx or the older .doc), RTF, HTML, or even image files such as PNG, JPEG and BMP. If you’re sending an eBook that you haven’t bought from the Kindle Store, it needs to be in either the .mobi or .azw format.
