Fired up your browser this morning and find yourself looking at tiny text in Google Chrome? So tiny, you’re now wondering if you shouldn’t have ignored those eye test reminder? The good news it’s probably not you, it’s your browser.
Google Chrome makes it stupidly easy to accidentally change the zoom level, meaning you can often find yourself looking at a page of small print or, conversely, a screen that you could read the text from in a neighbouring county. So how do you fix this problem?
Fixing tiny text in Google Chrome: change zoom levels
The keyboard shortcut for changing the zoom level in Google Chrome in Windows is holding down Ctrl and the + or – keys to change the zoom accordingly.
Alternatively, you can click on the three dots in the top right-hand corner of the browser window and change the zoom back to 100% (or wherever you normally have it) from the options menu.
Most modern websites will automatically adapt the design if you zoom in to make the text appear bigger, but some older sites without such ‘responsive’ design might struggle to adapt.
