We might be flicking the finger to Jose Foreigner and leaving the EU, but there will still be plenty of occasions when you need to talk Euros. So how do you type the Euro symbol on a UK keyboard, when only the £ and $ symbols are actually printed on the thing?
Well, there are several ways.
How to type the Euro symbol on a UK keyboard
The key combination you’re looking for on a Windows computer is Ctrl + Alt + 4. Slap those three keys together and a Euro symbol (€) should appear on-screen.
If you’re typing in Microsoft Word, Ctrl + Alt + E also delivers the Euro sign. In other applications, such as the web browser, you will simply gét an accént over your é.
If you’re using a Mac, the Euro symbol comes from holding down Alt + Shift + 2.
However, if you ever forget the correct key combo, there’s one very easy and often neglected way to enter a € symbol. Search Google for “Euro symbol”, and simply copy (Ctrl + C) and paste (Ctrl + V) the symbol shown in the search results into your document.
Simples. Well, symbols.
