You’re sat at your Mac and want to check the battery level of your iPhone. You’d probably reach over, grab your phone, unlock it, check it then set it down again. But wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t have to do any of that and could just get your battery details straight from your Mac screen?
Well, assuming your iPhone is within Bluetooth range that’s exactly what you can do.
How to check your iPhone battery level from a Mac
- Click on the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar
- After a short moment your phone should appear under a section named “Personal Hotspot”
- This shows your network connection and battery level all in one convenient place

Want to know the exact battery level percentage?
- Hold down your “option” key on the keyboard and click on the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar
- By holding down the “option” key, you should see additional information being displayed in the Wi-Fi “drop down”
- After a short moment your phone should appear under a section named “Personal Hotspot”
- If you now hover over your Phone information, a side menu should appear, displaying your exact battery level
