It’s great to know that your TalkTalk Wi-Fi Hub router comes ready to go with a random Wi-Fi password. That way, your wireless network is secure without you having to do anything. However, you can change the password for even tighter security or just to make it easier to remember. So let’s look at how you can change the TalkTalk Wi-Fi password.

Log in to your TalkTalk router

Before you can change the Wi-Fi password on a TalkTalk Wi-Fi hub, you’ll first need to log into your router. If you’re unsure how to do that, click here for instructions on how to access settings on a TalkTalk router.

Change the TalkTalk Wi-Fi Password

Once you’re logged into your TalkTalk router, you can change the Wi-Fi password by doing the following:

On the main dashboard page, select See Wi-Fi Settings

See Wi-Fi Settings option TalkTalk Wi-Fi Hub

On the My Wi-Fi page in the Connectivity Status box, click on Change Wi-Fi Password.

You can also change the Wi-Fi network name within the Connectivity Status box. If you’re interested, our article on how to change the TalkTalk Wi-Fi name will show you how. Otherwise, continue to the next step.

Now enter your new Wi-Fi password into both the Provide a new password and Confirm this new password boxes. The password needs to be a minimum of eight characters long, but doesn’t have any other restrictions. Ideally, make it as complicated as possible while still being easy to remember.

To double-check that you’ve typed in the passwords correctly, you can reveal them by clicking on the Show Password box.

Once you’re happy everything is correct, click the Save Wi-Fi password button (PS. don’t use the password shown above or any password with the word ‘password’ in it, even if it’s partially disguised).

If you change the password while connected to your router via Wi-Fi, you’ll lose your connection when you click the save button. If this is the case, re-connect to your Wi-Fi using the new password and, if needed, refresh the web page.

Once reconnected, the My Wi-Fi page will now display the new Wi-Fi password.

Unless you’ve any other changes to make, you can log out of the router by clicking the Logout icon in the top right of the page.

Now is also a good time to check your devices. If you had any of them connected previously to your TalkTalk router via Wi-Fi, you’ll need to re-connect them again using your new password.
