Who carries cash anymore? Far more likely that you’re paying for stuff in shops on card or using your iPhone/Apple Watch. But how much can you spend on Apple Pay? Let’s find out.
Apple Pay limits
There is no fixed limit to the amount of money you can spend on Apple Pay – it varies from country to country.
In some countries, you may only be able to spend up to a certain limit, in others you may need to enter additional security information if you spend more than a certain amount. In all cases, you’ll need sufficient funds in the bank/credit accounts linked to your Apple Pay account.
Here’s a list of the Apple Pay limits in selected countries. This list is correct at the time of writing in September 2022, but please treat the information as a guide and take another form of payment if you think you’re going to be spending close to the stated limits:
UK | You may not be able to spend more than £100 |
USA | You may need to provide a signature for purchases over $50 |
Australia | You may need to enter a PIN for purchases over 200 Australian dollars |
China | You may need to enter a PIN for any purchase |
