If you’re playing the Sims 4 and looking for your family to have twins or triplets then you may find it difficult to achieve – twins only occur 10% of the time and triplets only 1%. However, there are ways to increase your chance of this happening. Follow our advice below to find out how to have twins in The Sims 4.
Time needed: 5 minutes.
The Sims 4: How to have twins
- Use the “Try for Baby” option with the “On Ley Line” interaction (requires City Living expansion pack)
This interaction is available when two Sims are on a ley line, which are special locations in the game marked by a glowing circle. When two Sims are on a ley line and use the “Try for Baby” interaction, there is a higher chance that they will have twins or triplets .
- Use the “Fertility Massage” interaction (requires Spa Day game pack)
This interaction is available when one Sim gives a massage to another. The massage can only be given by a Sim with Level 9 in the Wellness skill and after a Sim receives the massage a ‘Fertility Boost’ moodlet for the Sim will appear. Engaging in ‘Try for Baby’ while the moodlet is active (12 in-game hours) boosts the odds of a multiple pregnancy.
- Brew the Elixir of Fertility (requires Outdoor Retreat game pack)
Sims with Level 10 in the Herbalism skill can brew this recipe. Sims who consume it will have an increased chance of conceiving twins or triplets.
- Use the wishing well (requires Romantic Garden Stuff pack)
Sims who use the wishing well to wish for a child may get a fertility boost.
- Purchase the “Fertile” reward trait
Available from the Satisfaction Reward Store for 3,000 Satisfaction Points, ‘Fertile’ increases the chance of a successful ‘Try for Baby’ for the Sim who possesses the trait, as well as greatly increasing the chances of twins or triplets. This is the only way of influencing multiple births that is available in the base game.
Keep in mind that these suggestions, individually, do not guarantee that twins or triplets will be conceived. However, using all the above-mentioned methods in combination will almost guarantee a multiple birth, although a pregnancy will still only result in triplets about 10% of the time (but is a vast improvement to the original 1%).
