The HBO behemoth is fast approaching its climax: will the Night King triumph? Will Daenerys finally sit on the Iron Throne? Will Hot Pie open a chain of bakeries? However, if that all sounds like gobbledegook – or if you’re still stuck on series five – there’s still time to catch up. And, best of all, you don’t need to take out a Sky subscription to do it. Here’s how to watch Game of Thrones online.
Note: that certainly doesn’t mean it’s free (plenty of dodgy sites offer that service, alongside a hefty dose of malware and guilt), but £7.99 isn’t a high price to pay to avoid being a social pariah…
How to watch Game of Thrones online
The NOW TV Entertainment Pass is the answer. If you sign up for a month now, you’ll be able to watch the four remaining episodes shortly after they’re broadcast in the US. In UK time, that’s 3.20am every Monday. Oof. Even better, you’ll be able to dip into all of the other episodes at will.
Getting started couldn’t be simpler: head to nowtv.com/tv-passes and click on the “Start 7 day free trial” button underneath Entertainment Pass.
A few tasty offers will pop up, such as three months for £17.99, but you can ignore them by clicking on “Start free trial”.
Naturally, you’ll then be confronted with more offers for other passes, but, if they don’t tickle your fancy, select “Checkout”.
Now comes the boring bit: entering your information (including your card digits so keep them handy) and choosing a password. And, no, “iluvdragons” isn’t acceptable.
Once you’ve finished, all that’s left to do is choose how you’re going to watch Game of Thrones. If you want to use your PC or laptop, you’ll have to download the NOW TV Player via the hyperlink. The Player will then pop up whenever you select an episode on the website.
If, you want to use your smartphone or tablet, download the Now TV app for Android or iOS and log in.
Don’t fret if that doesn’t cover you: NOW TV makes also makes it easy to watch the Westeros epic on your smart TV, games console, set-top box and other streaming devices. See the full instructions, and check if your device is supported, by following this link.
And that’s it. If you’re new to NOW TV, you’ve got a week of free watching before it costs £7.99 per month. That said, there’s nothing to stop you cancelling as soon as you’ve watched the last episode. Valar morghulis!
